Choosing the right RV size is one of the biggest deciding factors in what RV you will buy. The size you end up choosing affects everything from storage and comfort, to how easy it is to drive. While there is no perfect size, there is always a perfect fit for your future RV travel needs. Lets dive into three factors you should be thinking about before deciding on your RV size/
1. How Do You Plan to Travel?
Your travel style should be one of the leading factors in how big your RV needs to be. Do you take long trips that are weeks to months long? Or do you typically take weekend or one week long trips? Do you plan to travel to more deserted areas that won’t have as many places to stop and store up on necessities? Are you comfortable driving large vehicles or would your prefer something a little on the smaller side? These are all very important questions to ask yourself as your travel days should be as easy and comfortable as possible/
2. How Many People Do You Plan to Travel With?
Obviously the more people you want to fit in your RV the more space you are going to need. Solo or couple travelers might need a very small amount of space well larger families will need to opt for something bigger. You should also be considering sleeping arrangements, are people comfortable sleeping in the same room or bed? Or maybe they want to bring their own tent and sleep outside. If that is the case you would be able to get away with a slightly smaller RV. So ask your travel companions there preferences and work with that.
3. How Much Storage Space Do You Need for Comfortability?
It is not just about the visual size of the RV, but also how that space is used. Were the storage areas designed efficiently to maximize space? What does the layout of the RV look like and how might that affect the space usage? Do you want slide outs on your RV for increased space when set up? Dive deep into the organization and layout of different RV sizes before making a final decision. Because and RV could be bigger in square feet than another, but that does not always mean it has used that square footage the most effectively.
In the end, choosing the right RV size comes down to understanding how you travel, who you want to travel with, and how comfortable you want to be during your trips. There is often no one size fits all answer, as some things might end up being give and take. But really weigh the pros and cons of each RV you look at. Imagine yourself living in there with all your family, things, and pets. It is better to take more time to truly evaluate each option than it is to jump into buying one that looks right from the outside.
